599 GTO

The XX car, road-bound

The 599 GTO converts lessons from the track-only 599XX into a front-engined road car with 670 cv and 60-millisecond shifts. Ferrari built 599; unlike the earlier GTOs, this one was not created to homologate a competition model.

Overview

The 599XX test programme supplied the hardware and calibration; Ferrari supplied 599 road allocations.

Ferrari announced the GTO in 2010 after using the 599XX as an experimental client track car. The road model retained the 599's front-engine layout but changed cooling, aerodynamics, tyres, suspension calibration and shift speed.

A production limit of 599 makes specification and mileage visible in public results. Delivery-mileage cars now trade separately from used examples.

What moves the price

Two F40s can be indistinguishable in a photograph and a million apart at the hammer: the difference is never in the paint. Build the file below and watch the band move.
