512 TR / F512 M
The flat-twelve closes
The 512 TR sharpens the Testarossa's powertrain; the F512 M adds titanium connecting rods, fixed lamps and a 440 cv tune. They share a platform but not a market: 2'261 TRs against 501 Ms; some references cite 2'280 TRs.

Overview
Two revisions carried the 1984 Testarossa architecture through 1996.
The 512 TR arrived in 1991 with a lower powertrain, stronger structure, revised cabin, larger brakes and 428 cv. RM Sotheby's catalogues cite both 2'261 and 2'280 cars; this dossier uses the lower documented figure.
The F512 M followed in 1994 with fixed lamps, round tail lights and internal engine changes for 440 cv. Production ended at 501, closing Ferrari's mid-engined flat-12 road-car line.
