Grey paint, manual gearbox
The first Sport Classic is a 997 Carrera S reworked by Porsche Exclusive, not a retrospective trim package. All 250 combine the wide rear body with rear-wheel drive, a manual gearbox, 408 PS and the fixed ducktail.

Estimate band for good road cars. 13 documented sales since 2019 plotted below.
Band and axis shown in USD. Sale positions use indicative fixed-rate conversion to USD; sale readouts retain recorded currencies. Indicative European band for original, documented cars. Very low mileage, early serial numbers and US eligibility can move a car outside it.
Instrument calibration for this file is in progress — the terminal above reads the documented record directly.
Reported auction results are retained in EUR. Buyer-premium treatment follows the auction house's published result.
Overview
Porsche Exclusive had spent decades building one-off commissions. The 997 Sport Classic, shown at Frankfurt in 2009, brought the department back to a complete limited-series vehicle project.
The formula was specific: a Carrera S engine with a new resonance intake and 408 PS, the wide Carrera 4 body without all-wheel drive, a manual gearbox, double-dome roof, ducktail and a single grey paint scheme.
Boris Apenbrink led the first project. Porsche later treated it as the starting point for a line of Heritage Design cars, but the 997 remained the smallest Sport Classic production run.
