993 GT2
Homologation, still road-legal
Porsche removed the 993 Turbo's driven front axle to homologate a GT2-class race car. The road version made 430 PS, weighed 1'295 kilograms and sent everything through the rear wheels. A second series raised output to 450 PS.

Band and axis shown in USD. Sale positions use indicative fixed-rate conversion to USD; sale readouts retain recorded currencies. Estimate for authenticated road cars. Clubsport equipment, rare factory colour, matching drivetrain and documented race history require individual adjustment.
Instrument calibration for this file is in progress — the terminal above reads the documented record directly.
Road and Clubsport results are identified separately. Race-only GT2 R and Evo cars are excluded from the band.
Overview
The GT2 class needed a production car.
Porsche began development in 1994 by combining the twin-turbo 993 engine with RS body components and a rear-drive transaxle. The road-approved base car allowed customer teams to compete in production-derived GT racing.
The 430 PS first series arrived in 1995. For the 1998 model year, output rose to 450 PS. Porsche's 2024 factory account gives 172 first-series cars and 21 second-series cars; auction catalogues often quote 194 road-going cars, so chassis-level registers should govern an individual claim.
