964 Carrera RS
Cup hardware, road registration
The 964 Carrera RS removes the Carrera 2's insulation and assistance, then adds the Cup car's engine mounts, flywheel and chassis priorities. Shell integrity matters more than cosmetic condition alone.

Overview
The first road-going 911 RS since 1973 started with the Carrera Cup car.
Porsche developed the 964 Carrera RS for the 1992 model year as a road-legal bridge between the Carrera 2 and the contemporary Carrera Cup racer.
The programme removed roughly 130 kg, raised output to 260 PS and replaced comfort-oriented driveline parts with a racing clutch, single-mass flywheel, stiffer mounts and a closer-ratio gearbox.
Standard Lightweight cars formed the core of the run. The more severe N/GT specification was intended for customers taking the car directly into competition, and market history now treats it separately.
