P1 GTR

Circuit programme, no road compromise

The P1 GTR removes road homologation: slick tyres, fixed suspension, a full-width wing and 1'000 PS. McLaren sold build slots only to P1 owners. Fifty-eight were built; later road conversions need separate valuation.

Overview

Built after owners asked for more

McLaren had not originally planned a GTR derivative of the P1. Customer demand prompted a track-only concept shown at Pebble Beach in 2014 and the production car at Geneva in 2015.

The timing marked twenty years since the F1 GTR's Le Mans win. Production started after the 375th road P1 left the line, and available slots were restricted to existing P1 owners.

McLaren delivered 58 cars with a supported driving programme. Some later gained road conversions, creating a second specification group that should be identified explicitly in research and valuation.
