Overview
A speedster built around airflow
McLaren revealed the Elva in 2019 as an open member of the Ultimate Series. Its name refers to the McLaren-Elva M1A, M1B and M1C customer racers, but the new car uses the Senna family's 4.0-litre V8 and carbon structure.
The production ceiling changed during the programme. The final numbered series stopped at 149, and some markets could specify a factory windscreen in place of the active air-management arrangement.
Because almost every visible surface could be specified through MSO, paint, exposed-carbon treatment and whether the car retains its defining windscreen-free configuration matter more than a conventional option list.
