Centenario

Forty cars for Ferruccio

Lamborghini split the Centenario run evenly: twenty coupés and twenty roadsters. Rear-wheel steering, a 770 CV V12 and a telemetry touchscreen moved from this carbon-bodied test bed into the wider range.

Overview

A centenary car used as a development car

Ferruccio Lamborghini was born in 1916. For the centenary of his birth, the company took the Aventador's 6.5-litre V12 architecture to 770 CV and wrapped it in a new carbon body rather than issuing a trim package.

The coupé appeared at Geneva in March 2016; the roadster followed during Monterey Car Week. All 40 had already been allocated at a stated €1.75 million before tax.

Its useful legacy is mechanical. Four-wheel steering, active aerodynamics, telemetry and the central touchscreen were shown together here before related systems filtered into regular-production Lamborghinis.
