Bolide

The W16 leaves the road

The Bolide is a closed-circuit car, not a Chiron derivative with number plates. Forty were built around the final 1'600 PS W16, a new carbon monocoque and enough aero load to make track history more relevant than road mileage.

Overview

A concept made into forty cars

Bugatti showed the Bolide concept in 2020 as a study in how little car the W16 required. Customer demand turned it into a 40-car production programme.

The production car gained safety systems and usable track hardware, raising dry weight to 1'450 kg. Bugatti tested it for up to 2.5 g of lateral acceleration and nearly three tonnes of downforce, depending on speed.

First deliveries began in 2024. The final car was completed in 2025, closing the track-only branch of the W16 programme.
