The execution

The road homologation car: a longitudinal supercharged 2.0-litre four, rear-wheel drive and Pininfarina-developed bodywork around the Beta Montecarlo's central monocoque.

Group B required 200 road cars, the same figure used by Lancia's official Heritage account. RM says 207 were complete at homologation and elsewhere uses 217; the specialist project register says 222 hand-built without defining its denominator.

On the record

  • 205 hp in the official Heritage account; Gooding estimates 200 bhp
  • 0–100 km/h in under 7.0 seconds; surface unstated
  • 3'915 mm long and 1'850 mm wide
  • L45'630'000 Italian list price at the 1982 Turin show
