Engineer credited in the register for the Lamborghini 350 GT/400 GT chassis and the Miura's mid-engined chassis.

Dallara graduated in aeronautical engineering in 1959 and began his career at Ferrari before moving to Maserati and Lamborghini. The register credits him as chassis engineer for the 350 GT and 400 GT, and as chief engineer for the Miura's chassis and mid-engined layout.

Dallara was technical director when the Miura was created in 1966. In 1972, he founded Dallara Automobili in his home town of Varano de' Melegari, applying his engineering experience to racing cars.

Aerospace-led engineering

His aeronautical-engineering training preceded a career spanning Ferrari, Maserati and Lamborghini before he founded his own racing-car company.
