Kissimmee is the season’s opening statement — the largest collector-car auction on earth by lot count, run across nearly two weeks in central Florida. Where Monterey curates, Kissimmee measures: thousands of cars crossing one block, from six-figure muscle to seven-figure European exotica.
Because of its sheer volume, Kissimmee is the year’s first honest reading of the market’s temperature. Sell-through rates and no-reserve results here move sentiment weeks before the European season opens.

The origin
1999
Mecum dates the inauguration of its Kissimmee auction to 1999. The early Florida event ran with the NCRS Winter Regional at Old Town, where Corvette judging, a swap meet and the auction shared a weekend. In January 2006, Mecum moved the auction to Osceola Heritage Park. The first OHP edition ran for two days with two tents; the same annual auction remains there.
How it runs
- Thirteen days at OHP
- The latest completed edition, Kissimmee 2026, ran from 6 to 18 January at Osceola Heritage Park with 4,500 vehicles. The venue says the event uses its 200-acre property, more than 900,000 square feet of tents and the 10,000-capacity Silver Spurs Arena.
- Reserve and no-reserve
- Mecum combines reserve lots with no-reserve collections; the Bachman Ferrari Collection was explicitly offered at no reserve in 2026. Lots that fail to meet reserve enter The Bid Goes On process. Mecum’s published bidder form lists a 10-percent at-auction premium for automobiles and 12 percent for telephone or internet bids.
- Road Art and collections
- Named vehicle collections are organized alongside Road Art collections. The 2026 Road Art listings included porcelain and tin signs, gas pumps, service-station display pieces, furniture, vending machines, bicycles and go-karts. The public programme lists collector cars, motorcycles, tractors and Road Art.
- Bidding and broadcast
- Gold bidders have arena-floor seating. Mecum registers bidders for in-person, telephone and internet participation; telephone bidders receive a professional bidding assistant. Its rules allow televised or streamed coverage, while the 2026 venue report says the Kissimmee sale broadcast from the Silver Spurs Arena.
On the record
- 2006
The first OHP sale ran on 27-28 January 2006. It offered 153 Corvettes and sold 121; a 1967 Corvette reached $226,800 and a 1963 Z06 reached $220,500.
- 2020
At Kissimmee 2020, the Highland Green 1968 Ford Mustang GT Bullitt hero car driven by Steve McQueen sold for $3.74 million. Contemporary coverage reports a $3.4 million hammer and a 10-percent buyer’s premium.
- 2021
Carroll Shelby’s personal 1965 Shelby 427 Cobra, chassis CSX3178, sold for $5.94 million. Contemporary coverage says Shelby owned it from new until his death in 2012; the final price set a public-auction record for a 427 Cobra.
- 2022
Kissimmee 2022 recorded $217 million in total sales at a 90-percent sell-through, the first collector-car auction reported above $200 million. The Ken Miles-driven 1965 Shelby GT350R Prototype led the event at $3.75 million.
- 2024
The last Ferrari 250 GT SWB California Spyder built, chassis 4137, sold at Kissimmee 2024 for $17.875 million. Mecum’s result identifies it as the final SWB California Spyder built.
