Chief Technical Officer of AUDI AG; former Chief Technical Officer of Lamborghini
The record
Engineer who oversaw Lamborghini’s hybridisation strategy as Chief Technical Officer from January 2022 to July 2026, including the Revuelto, Urus SE and Temerario, and has been Chief Technical Officer of AUDI AG since March 2026.
Born in Saarbrücken in 1979, Mohr studied engineering at the Technical University of Kaiserslautern and earned a doctorate in numerical mechanics. His 2008 dissertation, Consistent Time-Integration of Finite Elasto-Plasto-Dynamics, was submitted and defended at the university that year. He then joined AUDI AG research and development as a testing engineer for chassis durability. In 2014, he became Head of Complete Vehicle Project Management for the A3, TT, Q7 and Q8.
In 2017, Mohr moved to Automobili Lamborghini, taking overall responsibility for complete-vehicle development and overseeing the Aventador, Huracán and Urus. He held that role for two years before returning to Audi to lead Energy and Weight Management. In 2020, Audi appointed him Head of Complete Vehicle Verification and Validation. Lamborghini named him Chief Technical Officer in January 2022, succeeding Maurizio Reggiani, who became Vice President Motorsport.
As Lamborghini CTO, Mohr defined the brand’s technical strategy and oversaw portfolio hybridisation, including the Revuelto, Urus SE and Temerario. He also served as interim head of motorsport, with responsibility for the SC63 endurance-racing programme. On 1 March 2026, he joined AUDI AG’s Board of Management as Chief Technical Officer. Fermín Soneira succeeded him at Lamborghini effective 1 July 2026.
On the Revuelto, he told Motor Trend: “The technology had to support the character of the car and not vice versa.” Asked what he was proudest of, he answered: “That the majority of drivers would not know it's a hybrid car.”
In Lamborghini’s April 2023 Revuelto film, Mohr said: “The main challenge has been to transfer the Lamborghini DNA to the electrified world.” He added: “Revuelto is the first car where we completely changed the architecture and the first Lamborghini with an electric four-wheel driving.”
