Founder and president of Eccentrica, the San Marino Diablo restomod house
The record
Sammarinese furniture-group president who founded Eccentrica in Serravalle in 2023 to rebuild first-series Lamborghini Diablos. A Super Trofeo amateur and Lamborghini collector, he set the analogue brief, commissioned BorromeoDeSilva and later Maurizio Reggiani, and remains founder and president of the 19-car series.
Emanuel Colombini was born in San Marino in 1978, the son of Giuseppe Colombini, whose family founded the furniture firm at Galazzano in 1965. He took a technical diploma in Rimini in 1997 and a family-business master at SDA Bocconi in 1999, then joined the works. After his father's unexpected death he stayed on under his uncle Ivo, and in 2003 became chief executive.
He ran Colombini Group as amministratore delegato until November 2019, when Giovanni Battista Vacchi became CEO and Colombini moved to executive president. In 2012 he became, at thirty-four, the youngest president of ANIS, San Marino's industrial association, leaving in 2015. In March 2025 he bought the remaining half of the group from Ivo's holding Fich and became sole owner.
As a boy he saw a red Diablo on the cover of Quattroruote. He later bought an early car and a Diablo GT and judged the Chrysler-era first series unfinished. After youth motocross and local rallying he stopped for twenty years. In 2022 he debuted in Super Trofeo Europe at Imola with cousin Emanuele Zonzini, winning Pro-Am first time out. In 2023, with Iron Lynx, they were European Pro-Am runners-up and third in the World Finals.
He registered Eccentrica in Serravalle on 12 February 2023 to keep the naturally aspirated 5.7-litre V12 and the gated manual while fixing drivability and finish. BorromeoDeSilva drew a carbon body; Podium Advanced Technologies engineered. The prototype appeared in Milan in July 2023. He later brought in Maurizio Reggiani, whom he had met as a Countach LPI 800-4 and Essenza SCV12 customer, as technical adviser in July 2024.
The drivable V12 debuted at The Quail in August 2024. Production of the 19-car run opened in May 2025 with the Rose Phoenix. In August 2026 Eccentrica announced a 19-car Roadster, shown at The Quail on 14 August. He remains president of Colombini Group and of San Marino's Chamber of Commerce, and a director of Banca Sammarinese di Investimento.
He chose the early Diablo because Gandini began the design and Chrysler finished it, leaving weaknesses. Every V12 starts as a first-series car: the 5.7-litre V12 stays naturally aspirated and a six-speed gate replaces the five-speed.
His brief was to keep the analogue character and fix what made the car hard to live with. On the V12 that meant Brembo 380-millimetre brakes, TracTive dampers, an electric throttle and a nose-lift — not a new silhouette.
He capped the V12 at nineteen cars because, he told Fortloc, nineteen is prime and he likes the Fibonacci sequence. Each car is a commission. The same number was later applied to the Roadster.
