The origin
2019
The Audrain Newport Concours & Motor Week was established in Newport in 2019. It was organized by the principals of the Audrain Automobile Museum, opened on Bellevue Avenue in 2014. The museum occupies the restored Audrain Building, designed for Adolphe Audrain by Bruce Price in 1902; its founders sought a home for automobiles historically significant to Newport. The inaugural program lasted four days and ended with the concours on The Breakers lawn. The 2020 event was postponed to 2021.
How it runs
- Concours d'Elegance
- Scheduled for Sunday, October 4, 2026, the Concours d'Elegance moves to Fort Adams. The programme lists more than 180 cars in 25 classes. First-in-class winners advance to the Willie K. Vanderbilt Trophy, while class and special awards are presented across a field spanning the early 1900s to 1980.
- Tour d'Elegance
- On Saturday, October 3, the scheduled Tour d'Elegance begins at Sachuest Beach, follows back roads through Little Compton, and returns to Newport via Thames Street and Ocean Drive. It ends on Bellevue Avenue opposite the Audrain Museum, which is closed to traffic from 11:00 to 13:30 for public viewing.
- Motor Week programme
- The published 2026 Motor Week schedule runs from October 1–4, with the Motor Week Village and seminars at the International Tennis Hall of Fame and The Gathering on Friday at Rough Point. It also lists public and ticketed events separately, including the tour, Cars & Coffee, and the Saturday gala.
- Separate auction and supercar concours
- Broad Arrow, a Hagerty company, is the exclusive auction partner for 2026–28 and schedules its Motor Week auction at the International Tennis Hall of Fame on Friday, October 2. That auction is a separate Motor Week fixture, not the Sunday concours. A separate Supercar Concours is scheduled at Fort Adams on Saturday.

- 2019
The inaugural event ended at The Breakers with Joseph Cassini's 1927 Isotta Fraschini Tipo 8A S Fleetwood named Best of Show and Most Elegant. Nearly 100 cars were judged on Sunday.
- 2019
Aston Martin unveiled the DBS GT Zagato at the inaugural Audrain event on October 4. The model was the contemporary half of the 19-pair DBZ Centenary Collection, paired with the DB4 GT Zagato Continuation.
- 2022
On October 2 at The Breakers, William Medcalf's 1930 Bentley Speed Six Sports Saloon won Best of Show at the third edition, following the postponed 2020 event.
- 2024
Jim Utaski's one-off 1959 Maserati 3500 GT Bertone Coupé, designed by Franco Scaglione, won Best of Show at The Breakers on October 6. The field comprised 184 cars and 70 judges.
- 2025
Chris MacAllister's unrestored 1933 Alfa Romeo 8C-2300 Rimoldi Corto Spyder won Best of Show at The Breakers on October 5. The car competed in the 1935 Monte Carlo Rally and remained with Giulio Rimoldi from 1937 until 1988.
