One-second-wow method
He defined the house method as an immediate recognition of a Brabus product. The formula, he told CAR, does not require a car, four wheels or a steering wheel, which allowed boats, motorcycles and the Crawler.

Brabus CEO and owner who put the Bodo Gran Turismo into production
The record
Son of Brabus founder Bodo Buschmann; became chief executive in 2018 and later put the Bodo, a Gran Turismo named for his father and limited to 77 coupés, into production.
He sat on the Brabus executive board as chief marketing officer, responsible for marketing and sales, when his father, founder Bodo Buschmann, died on 26 April 2018 after a short illness. The company made him chief executive of the Brabus Group with immediate effect. The Bottrop imprint still names him managing director of Brabus GmbH.
He later told CAR that the death produced a "very clear-cut transition from one generation to the next" and that Brabus in 2018 needed "drive, speed and energy". Mercedes-Benz work continued, but he opened the house to other marques and products: a Porsche 911 conversion in 2022, motorbikes with KTM, powerboats, and the Crawler buggy. He called the method a "one-second-wow" that need not contain a car, four wheels or a steering wheel.
The unfinished job was a large Gran Turismo his father had asked for over many years. Brabus showed the Bodo at FuoriConcorso on Lake Como in May 2026: a carbon 2+2 on an Aston Martin Vanquish chassis with a 5.2-litre twin-turbo V12 rated at 1,000 hp, limited to 77 coupés. He said they had discussed such a car "a hundred times" and that it took eight years to build. A cabriolet, also limited to 77, followed at Monterey in August 2026.
He defined the house method as an immediate recognition of a Brabus product. The formula, he told CAR, does not require a car, four wheels or a steering wheel, which allowed boats, motorcycles and the Crawler.
On the Bodo he kept pushing the engineering team past early cost objections so that a full carbon body, unique lighting and Masterpiece-level interior options could be offered on a non-Mercedes chassis.

In their words
“The Brabus Bodo is both the next step for the brand and a tribute to my father, Bodo Buschmann. The name and the story behind it are a deliberate homage to him.”
