## A hybrid built around one ratio

Koenigsegg showed the Regera concept at Geneva in 2015 and presented the production form in 2016. Its brief shifted away from the Agera's track bias toward quieter operation and a more usable cabin without dropping the company's power target.

Koenigsegg Direct Drive made that split possible. The compact HydraCoup and three electric motors replaced a conventional gearbox, while the 800-volt battery delivered high power from a 4.5 kWh pack.

The entire 80-car run was allocated by mid-2017. In June 2023 a Regera completed 0–400–0 km/h in 28.81 seconds; the Jesko Absolut later lowered the mark.
