# CC8S

The first customer Koenigsegg

The CC8S turned Christian von Koenigsegg's eight-year development programme into a customer car. Six were built, two in right-hand drive. For collectors, factory specification and documented continuity outweigh mileage.

2002 to 2003 · 6 built · Ängelholm

## The price and the proof

Indicative road-car band $1.3M–$1.8M · 1 documented road sales · 1 recorded sales on file. Modeled values are not observed sales. Nothing here is investment advice.

Confidence: estimate. No documented public CC8S sale was found in this research pass. The estimate rests on six-car production, the model's position as Koenigsegg's first customer car, and public 2021 results for the later CCR and CCX.

Factory specification, delivery market and documented factory work can move an individual car outside this range.

## Eight years from company to customer car

Christian von Koenigsegg founded the company in 1994. A CC prototype appeared publicly at Cannes in 1997, followed by the CC8S production prototype at the 2000 Paris motor show.

Customer production began in 2002. The carbon structure, removable roof and unusual door mechanism were already resolved; the main work was turning the re-engineered V8 into a compliant, tractable road engine.

Production stopped after six cars in 2003. The CCR retained the core architecture but added twin superchargers, more braking and more aerodynamic load.

| Highlight | Detail |
| --- | --- |
| Six cars set the template | The first production run established the carbon tub, roof that stows under the front panel and dihedral synchro-helix doors used by later Koenigseggs. Two of the six were built in right-hand drive. With so few chassis, colour, delivery market and subsequent factory work identify an individual car as clearly as its mileage. |
| A modular V8, rebuilt | Koenigsegg began with Ford modular V8 architecture, then changed the lubrication, internals, heads, injection, exhaust and induction system. The result was a factory-rated 655 bhp with emissions equipment fitted. Dry-sump lubrication, forged pistons and rods, a centrifugal supercharger and Koenigsegg's passive Rocket Cat exhaust bypass separated the production engine from its starting point. |
| The first production record | Guinness recognised the CC8S engine as the most powerful fitted to a production car at the time. The record gave a six-car manufacturer a measurable result rather than a styling claim. |
