# SF90 Stradale

Four motors, 1'000 cv

The first series plug-in Ferrari: a 780-cv twin-turbo V8 and three electric motors put 1'000 cv through all four wheels, the front axle purely electric. Named for Scuderia Ferrari's ninetieth season, sold without a production cap — body, options and the limited XX pair decide where a car stands.

## The price and the proof

Indicative road-car band $360K–$605K · 6 documented road sales · 8 recorded sales on file. Modeled values are not observed sales. Nothing here is investment advice.

Confidence: medium. The SF90 trades in volume, so guide coverage is deep — classic.com benchmarks the Stradale near $488k and the Spider near $600k, Hagerty's visible condition #3 sits at $469k for a 2022 car. The band spans ordinary cars: typical 2025–26 results cluster at $420k–$500k, Spiders above coupés, while heavily optioned and early retail-era cars still clear the top of it.

Figures in USD for standard SF90 Stradale and Spider. XX Stradale and XX Spider are excluded from the band.

Standard cars have settled 10–25% under US list after the 2022–23 over-list era. The 1'398 XX cars are a separate market: $1'700'000 on Bring a Trailer in December 2025 and $1'870'000 at Barrett-Jackson Palm Beach in April 2026 mark the public ceiling.

## Ninety years of Scuderia, one electric leap

Revealed on 29 May 2019, the SF90 Stradale carried Scuderia Ferrari's ninetieth anniversary in its name and a first in its spine: the first series-production plug-in hybrid from Maranello, the first four-wheel-drive Ferrari sports car, and the first time a V8 sat at the very top of the range. The recipe stacked a 780-cv evolution of the twin-turbo V8 with three electric motors for a round 1'000 cv.

The pandemic pushed first deliveries to late 2020, by which time the SF90 Spider had added a retractable hardtop and the Assetto Fiorano package had introduced a factory track specification alongside the standard car. Neither body carried a production cap — Ferrari never published totals, and its own reporting shows the SF90 family carrying a meaningful share of the record hybrid volumes of 2022 and 2023.

In June 2023 the XX programme, until then a track-only laboratory, produced its first road-legal cars: 799 XX Stradale coupés and 599 XX Spiders with 1'030 cv and a fixed wing, sold out before the reveal. An XX Stradale set Fiorano's road-car record at 1:17.309 that October. The coupé left production in mid-2024, the Spider in 2025, and in September 2025 the 849 Testarossa took over the architecture — closing the SF90's run as the car that made electrification a Ferrari argument.

| Highlight | Detail |
| --- | --- |
| Ninety per cent new parts | Project leader Paolo Valenti put a number on the leap: a typical new Ferrari carries about forty per cent new parts — the SF90 carried ninety. The chassis was designed around the hybrid hardware from a clean sheet: seven aluminium alloys, a carbon-fibre rear firewall, and 270 kg of electric system offset by the structure itself. |
| The front axle is electric | Two independent motors drive and steer the nose — torque vectoring on the way into a corner, four-wheel drive out of it, and the only reverse gear the car has. Below 135 km/h the SF90 runs as a front-drive electric car for up to 25 km. Above 210 km/h the front axle disconnects entirely and the 780-cv V8 has the car to itself. |
| A road car and a track car at launch | For the first time Ferrari offered a standard car and a track specification side by side on launch day: Assetto Fiorano brought Multimatic dampers, titanium springs and exhaust, and thirty kilograms less. Its carbon spoiler is worth 390 kg of downforce at 250 km/h. Early cars traded at a clear premium for the pack; the market has since compressed it into the ordinary band. |
| The XX programme took the road | In June 2023 the track-only XX experiment finally produced road-legal cars: 799 XX Stradale coupés and 599 XX Spiders, all sold before the covers came off. With 1'030 cv and the first fixed wing on a road Ferrari since the F50, the XX Stradale lapped Fiorano in 1:17.309 — the production-car record there until the F80 arrived. |

## The people behind the car

### [Flavio Manzoni](https://hiconium.dev/people/flavio-manzoni)

Head of Design · Ferrari

Directed the SF90's cab-forward, spaceship-like form — a deliberate break with the mid-V8 line that preceded it.

### Marc Poulain

Senior exterior designer · Ferrari

Shaped the drop-of-water profile and the new light signatures that abandoned Ferrari's round tail lamps.

### Paolo Valenti

Project team leader · Ferrari

Ran the programme in which ninety per cent of parts were new — more than double a typical new-model share.

### Vittorio Dini

Powertrain director · Ferrari

Took the F154 V8 to four litres and 780 cv — new head, injection, valves, manifolds, rods and pistons.

### Michael Leiters

Chief technology officer · Ferrari

Oversaw the all-new multi-material chassis and the integration of 270 kg of hybrid hardware.

### Raffaele de Simone

Head of development test driving · Ferrari

Drove the SF90 XX Stradale's certified 1:17.309 Fiorano lap in October 2023.
