# Modulo

A canopy over wheels

Paolo Martin reduced a Ferrari 512 S chassis to a low white disc with covered wheels and a forward-sliding canopy. It was a static Pininfarina show car first; the current owner later made chassis 0864 drive.

## The price and the proof

Indicative road-car band $4M–$7M. Modeled values are not observed sales. Nothing here is investment advice.

Confidence: estimate. Editorial estimate based on its unique Pininfarina provenance, Ferrari 512 S basis and public significance. The 2014 transfer price was private and no documented public auction sale supports a ledger.

### Documented sales

Every public sale on this file, newest first. Amounts keep the recorded currency. Source links appear only when the catalog stores a public auction-lot URL.

One-off concepts do not form a repeatable model market. Chassis history and current running condition require individual appraisal.

## A racing chassis became a Pininfarina argument about shape.

Paolo Martin developed the design inside Pininfarina and the finished Modulo appeared at the 1970 Geneva Motor Show. It later travelled as a show object, including Expo '70 in Osaka.

Pininfarina transferred the car to James Glickenhaus in 2014. Subsequent mechanical work turned the static concept into a running car; this changed its usability, not its one-off status.

| Highlight | Detail |
| --- | --- |
| No doors | The windscreen, roof and side glass form one canopy that slides over the nose. The beltline runs through the body without a conventional aperture. |
| Performance numbers need a footnote | The familiar 550 hp and 340 km/h figures describe Ferrari's 512 S racing type. The Modulo debuted as a non-running design study, so period acceleration and top-speed claims are not test evidence. |
