## The customer road car and the competition barchetta arrived together.

Ferrari introduced the 166 MM at Turin in September 1948. Touring's open body prompted Gianni Agnelli's reported use of the word barchetta, or little boat.

Inter chassis went to Touring, Stabilimenti Farina, Vignale and other coachbuilders. The result is not one standard body but a small population of individually documented cars.
