# Rocket GTS

The 1,000-hp shooting brake

Brabus turns the Mercedes-AMG SL 63 S E Performance into a fixed-roof carbon shooting brake with the 1,000-hp, 1,820-newton-metre Rocket 1000 hybrid drivetrain. The 25-car run costs €789,000 before VAT; the first resale ask is €855,000.

## The SL that traded its soft top for a carbon roof

Presented in October 2024 as part of the Brabus Collection 2025, the Rocket GTS moved the Rocket idea onto the Mercedes-AMG SL 63 S E Performance — and changed the body style entirely. The convertible donor becomes a fixed-roof shooting brake in visible carbon fibre, wrapped around the Rocket 1000's 4.5-litre biturbo V8 and rear-axle electric motor.

Twenty-five cars are built to order in Bottrop at €789,000 before VAT, each specified individually. The family has since grown around it: the Rocket GTC convertible followed in 2025, and by 2026 the first GTS resale — a Deep Blue car — was asking €855,000.

| Highlight | Detail |
| --- | --- |
| A convertible, coachbuilt into a coupé | The donor SL is a roadster; Brabus builds it the fixed roof it never had, in exposed carbon fibre, and adds a tailgate. The shooting-brake silhouette is tailor-made coachbuilding — no panel of the greenhouse is shared with the Mercedes. |
| Rocket lineage | The badge carries obligations: the 2006 Rocket on the CLS was the world's fastest street-legal sedan at 365.7 km/h, and the Rocket 800 pushed the record to 370. The GTS is the lineage's shooting-brake chapter — 1,000 hp, held back only by its own limiter. |
| Mean Green, Deep Blue | Within the 25-car run, Brabus shows what bespoke commissioning can do — the Mean Green and Deep Blue show cars wear their colours in the carbon weave itself. A Deep Blue example is the first to reach the open market, asking €855,000. |
| The GTC completes the family | In 2025 Brabus revealed the Rocket GTC — the convertible sibling coachbuild on the same base and drivetrain, unveiled during Monterey Car Week. Shooting brake or open top: the same 1,000 hybrid horsepower. |

### From roadster to shooting brake

The body

The transformation is structural, not cosmetic: a carbon roof where fabric used to fold, a hatch where the SL kept its luggage lid, widebody arches over Monoblock wheels with carbon aero discs. The exposed weave is the finish — paint appears only where the commission asks for it.

Underneath, the Rocket 1000 drivetrain: 796 hp of biturbo V8, 204 hp of rear-axle electric motor, 1,000 hp together, driving all four wheels through the nine-speed automatic.

### One thousand, worn openly

The engineering

The engine bay makes the point in red-tinted carbon: BRABUS 1000 BITURBO 4.5L, with the hybrid system's electronics tucked behind. At the wheels, carbon aero discs cover the spokes and the fender badge reads Rocket 1000 GTS — the drivetrain's name, worn on the coachbuild's body.

Every car is built to order; twenty-five will exist.
