The record

British-Italian engineer who was Chief Technical Officer of Bugatti Rimac from November 2021 until 2026. The register credits him with technical leadership of the W16 Mistral and Tourbillon. He now serves as president of the board of Opus Singularis AG.

Scervo grew up in a small town where his uncle ran the only Alfa Romeo workshop, and he spent weekends there. He studied aerospace engineering at the University of Pisa and later completed an Executive MBA at SDA Bocconi in Milan. The 2025 Aachen Colloquium recorded contributions to the Ferrari 458, McLaren 720S and McLaren Speedtail. Porsche, announcing Bugatti Rimac, described him as previously chief engineer at McLaren.

Rimac Automobili made him Chief Technology Officer before the joint company began. When Bugatti Rimac started operations in November 2021, he joined its board of management in that role. In March 2022 he and Achim Anscheidt were given charge of the new Berlin hub. He later said he had arrived in the middle of the W16-to-V16 transition, and that Tourbillon concept work started in 2021.

The register credits him with the Mistral technical programme. Because the Chiron family had not been planned as a roadster, the monocoque was re-engineered rather than simply opened. He described the need to balance thermodynamics and aerodynamics for more than 420 km/h with the roof off, while keeping the cabin luxurious at that speed.

On the Tourbillon he and the powertrain team chose a naturally aspirated V16 with Cosworth over a reworked W16 or a fully electric car, pairing it with three electric motors and a new dual-clutch gearbox. He wanted a clean-sheet platform that would elevate every aspect of the Chiron. The T-shaped battery became a structural part of the monocoque, and the hybrid car is lighter than its predecessor.

Aachen also listed the Bolide, Nevera and Nevera R among programmes under his guidance. By spring 2026 he had left Bugatti Rimac. The Swiss Official Gazette recorded him that June as president of the board of Opus Singularis AG, a new Küsnacht company for deep-tech engineering.

### Whole-vehicle integration

On the Tourbillon he started from concept and architecture, treating design, proportions and technical implementation together. He said the finished car should feel like the work of a single hand, not a collection of parts.

### Lightweight construction

He identifies vehicle weight as the number that must be as small as possible. On the Tourbillon that meant a structural battery, a crash structure inside the diffuser and 3D-printed suspension, so a hybrid hypercar could weigh less than the combustion-engined Chiron.

### Open-top cooling

For the Mistral he treated cooling and drag as one aero map, so 1,600 PS and more than 420 km/h were possible with the roof off. The roof scoops feed the last roadgoing W16 and serve as carbon rollover structures.
